Christopher Holloway (born in Cardiff 1980) is a Welsh painter based in Pontypridd. Holloway studied at Cardiff School of Art and Design and graduated with a B.A (Hons) in Fine Art, where he was awarded a travel scholarship to the Netherlands. Christopher has exhibited his work both nationally and internationally, including exhibitions with The Royal West of England Academy, Royal Institute of Oil Painters, and the ING Discerning Eye Exhibition, where he was a prize winner.
Holloway’s paintings explore the interplay between representation and abstraction of which observation is the primary basis for painting. His work explores themes such as fragility, romanticism, and the ephemeral, involving subjects such as landscape, interior spaces, and natural forms. Holloway’s introspective, multi-layered paintings explore form and spatial relationships, expressing changes and shifts in light, conveying movement and passing time.
